How it works
Placement of the Allurion balloon takes approximately 20 minutes and is performed while the patient is awake. 2 x-rays will be taken after swallowing the capsule and after inflation of the balloon to make sure the balloon is located correctly in your stomach..
The patient will be monitored for a short period before allowing him/ her to return home.
The ‘procedureless’ Allurion balloon will self-deflate and will then pass naturally into the toilet.
